Vice President of Business Development

Vice President of Business Development is primarily responsible for reinforcing and aligning the company as the leader in the healthcare retail industry. Primary responsibilities include the accountability for growing a perpetual business pipeline and the development of a world-class, national sales team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Business Development
  • Responsibility and accountability for assigned sales revenue goals.
  • Identify and recommend tools to increase sales and market penetration
  • Maximize new business development and assure perpetual pipeline growth.
  • Display exceptional strategic selling skills including discovery, presentation skills, tactical planning and closing.
  • Demonstrate superior knowledge, experience and connection within the healthcare market.
  • Research and continually investigate healthcare and retail trends and market developments.
  • Participate in trade shows/conferences as required.
  • Apprise management of the competitive market.
  • Solid leadership qualities and the ability to direct the efforts and develop a sales team from the ground up.
  • Provide the team with ongoing sales reporting

Sales Leadership and Strategy

  • Oversee the development, management and implementation of all business development initiatives
  • Develop and assess the effectiveness of sales tools, market content and messages
  • Act as the business development leader and representative to the senior strategy and leadership team
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a dynamic business development team
  • Manage a business development budget
  • Determine hiring and staffing needs as it relates to overall revenue and expense goals
  • Gather and analyze data internally to strengthen and create business development language and messaging as it relates specifically to Simply Retail
  • Ensure that the business development team is run at the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of demonstrated sales experience.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Budgeting and planning skills
  • Superior problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to strategize effectively
  • Successful negotiation and contracting experience in a sales environment.
  • Successful sales experience calling on C-level executives, operational department heads, and financial professionals.
  • The ability to travel.
  • History of building and maintaining strong positive business relationships.
  • Sales leadership expertise.
