Founded in 1978 as a wall hanging company, Infantino was acquired in 1991 by Dorel Industries Inc., a public entity based in Montreal, Canada. In September 2000, Infantino's management purchased the business from Dorel in a privately funded acquisition that proved to be fortuitous to the growth of the company. Michael Silberstein, Chief Executive Officer since 1985 and one of Infantino's veteran owners, continues to direct the company's phenomenal growth.
