The Merchandise Specialist is primarily responsible for a combination of cultivating and maintaining vendor relationships, product resource and development, retail data collection and analysis, identifying retail trends and inventory management with a healthcare retail focus and mindset.
Responsibilities include:
- Product Resource and Data Analysis
- Continuous development of product and vendor resources for healthcare, wellness, gift, convenience and other unique products.
- Develop product categories, product lists and identify customized product vendors for specific clients and store concepts for client hospital systems.
- Complete and ongoing familiarity with all product offerings
- Analyze, record and report product trends for all product concepts.
- Make product recommendations, identify new vendor and product needs and recommend corrective action based on product and financial analysis
- Attend national gift shows to source products.
Vendor Relations and Simply Products
- Introduce clients to Simply Products.
- Ability to clearly communicate the Simply Products value proposition to vendors, clients and other internal and external customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships and written and verbal communications with product vendors.
- Negotiate contractual agreements with product vendors to include commission rates, product offerings and other terms.
- Track contract due dates.
- Assist in the development of tools for clients to maintain and utilize Simply Products.
- Assist in the development of the Simply Products web-site, product lists and catalogue including inputting and organizing vendor and product information, obtain product images.
Store Merchandising
- Select merchandise for new store opening and new store concepts.
- Create and coordinate with the Simply Retail Trek team the preparation, delivery and communication to the client of store merchandise plans.
- Evaluate initial inventory purchase.
- Determine merchandise price points.
- Develop open-to-buy financial plans per store and per store concept
- Track store and merchandise sales including Simply Retail commissions earned.
- Develop additional retail management tools, reports, and processes for managed retail stores as needed.
- Analyze store financial data and adjust merchandise or buying patterns to meet financial goals.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of retail merchandise and or buyer experience
