Kathy has retail in her DNA. She grew up helping with her family's Hallmark store, and recognized, at a young age, that she wanted a career in retail. Fast forward 22 years and retail expertise is exactly what Kathy knows and delivers.
Kathy has held senior positions with major retailers, managing the people, processes and details to create successful retail operations. Prior to joining Simply Retail, Kathy spent five years with Department 56 as the Director of Stores. She was ultimately responsible for the entire retail process: from how stores looked (design, fixtures and signage) to how they were run (policies, procedures, hiring and training) to how they were promoted (marketing and event planning). Before that, Kathy spent 16 years at Pier 1 Imports, where her All Star performance won her numerous awards and led to her promotion to District Manager. She managed 11 store locations, generating annual sales of $20 million. Kathy also worked at Newspaper LLC as Vice President of Store Operations. At Simply Retail, she uses the same skills to lead her team in developing effective and streamlined Retail Systems within healthcare.
As Vice President of Consulting Services at Simply Retail, Kathy's job is essentially quality control: The quality of client service and the quality of execution, which translates into results. As the conduit within Simply Retail and with the client, Kathy has a hand in developing the recommendations and ensuring that they are successfully implemented. Her focus is with streamlining internal processes and communications between the Retail Discovery and Retail Trek teams, and making certain the final, fully-functioning Retail System exceeds the expectations of both Simply Retail and its clients. Kathy also established and operated her own retail consulting business, where she utilized her expertise to help companies improve daily operations and increase revenues. In fact, she was assisting Simply Retail on one such project when she was offered a position.
Kathy lives in Eagan, Minnesota, where she enjoys spending time with friends, family and her newly-slim yellow lab, Baxter. Her hobbies include interior design and home improvements, which has led to her reputation for going a little wild with the hot glue gun.
